Tampa Bay EDC Unveils “Future Ready” Plan for Regional Growth

The Tampa Bay Economic Development Council unveiled its new strategic plan, “Future Ready: Tampa Bay,” at its annual meeting this week. The plan outlines four catalytic initiatives designed to strengthen the region’s global competitiveness — artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure, blue technology, and business intelligence & economic research.

The initiatives reflect the region’s evolving strengths and collaboration across sectors, including the maritime security assets of Port Tampa Bay. Port Tampa Bay leaders participated in the plan’s advisory committee, helping shape a regional vision for innovation, sustainability, and economic resiliency.

EDC President & CEO Craig Richard and business leaders from across Tampa Bay emphasized measurable outcomes and accountability, underscoring that the plan will serve as a working blueprint for continued investment, job creation, and infrastructure development.

The 9th Annual Port Tampa BaySlam Is Almost Here!

The 9th Annual Port Tampa BaySlam Fishing Tournament is just days away! This one-day, five-species, catch-and-release event brings together participants from across the maritime, logistics, and business communities.

The event benefits the Tampa Bay Maritime Scholarship Foundation and the Tampa Seafarers Center, supporting education and community services connected to our port.

November Port Tampa Bay Board Meeting

The next regular business meeting of the Tampa Port Authority, d/b/a Port Tampa Bay, Board of Commissioners is scheduled for Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. at the Joseph Garcia International Center (1101 Channelside Drive, Tampa, FL 33602).

Public comment is welcome for anyone who signs in prior to the meeting. Speakers will be called in the order they sign up and have up to three (3) minutes each.
