Gasparilla Fleet Departs Port Tampa Bay
Due to windy conditions last week, the pirates of Gasparilla departed from Port Tampa Bay as they set sail for their annual invasion of Tampa.
While the departure location was a rare change, Port Tampa Bay was pleased to support this iconic Tampa tradition and wishes the Gasparilla fleet fair winds, safe seas and a memorable celebration for the community.
Port Tampa Bay Advocates for Federal Infrastructure Investment
This past week, Port Tampa Bay leadership traveled to Washington, D.C., to advocate for continued federal investment in port infrastructure that supports capacity expansion, trade growth and job creation.
During the visit, port representatives met with staff at the White House, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and congressional offices to advance priorities that drive economic growth across the Tampa Bay region and the state of Florida.
Cultivating these relationships is critical to securing federal investments that maintain Port Tampa Bay’s competitiveness and deliver long-term economic benefits for the region.
Port Tampa Bay Invitational Golf Tournament Set for April 24
Port Tampa Bay and its partners will host the 12th Annual Port Tampa Bay Invitational Golf Tournament on Friday, April 24, 2026, at Eagles Golf Club in Odessa, Florida.
The event will feature a four-person scramble format, on-course contests and interactive elements designed to make the day both competitive and fun, including special holes where teams can improve their score through unique challenges. The tournament will conclude with lunch and an awards ceremony at the clubhouse.
Proceeds from the tournament benefit Tampa Port Ministries’ Tampa Seafarers Center and the Tampa Bay Maritime Scholarship Foundation, supporting the people who keep global trade moving today and investing in the next generation of maritime professionals.
