I-4 Corridor Growth
Fastest Growing Florida Region
Home to more than 8 million residents and over 60 million visitors annually. Central Florida is the state’s fastest growing region, and is expected to outpace the growth of south Florida by more than 2 to 1 for the next several years (U.S. Census). The region is anchored by the I-4 corridor from Tampa to Orlando, which contains the largest concentration of distribution centers in the Southeast.
Port Tampa Bay is increasingly becoming a part of importers and exporters supply chain strategy as they realize the efficiencies available to them. Central Florida is Florida’s hub for distribution, logistics, and manufacturing.
Florida is the country’s largest state by population with more than 23 million residents and more than 143 million visitors a year. These demographics contribute to Florida becoming the 15th largest economy in the world. Companies that import and export to support this enormous market demand a Florida-first supply chain strategy with the direct container shipping services delivering their products as close to the market as possible to maximize supply chain efficiencies. The Tampa Bay region, combined with the I-4 Corridor, is home to almost half of Florida’s population and tourist visits. There are more than 400 distribution centers, along the I-4 Corridor feeding consumer demand from retail and e-commerce goods, food & beverage, to energy products, and construction & building materials. More recently, the burgeoning growth of distribution centers along I-75 at the crossroad of I-4 further demonstrates Central Florida’s importance as a key distribution hub.
Distribution Corridor
