Christyna Doege, has been awarded the honor of 2016 International Business Person of the Year, by the Tampa Bay Organization for Women in International Trade (TB OWIT). This annual award is presented to a local business person who exemplifies high ideals in business professionalism within the realm of international trade. The mission of OWIT is to promote international trade and affairs in the Tampa Bay area and to provide a forum for networking, education, and related activities with a global focus and an emphasis on women.

TAMPA, Fla.—Port Tampa Bay and the Tampa Port Ministries celebrated the annual Anchor Ball charity event Saturday, October 8, at the port’s Cruise Terminal 3. This exciting annual fundraiser and auction support the day-to-day operations of Tampa Port Ministries, the Tampa Seafarers Center, and provide funds for the Tampa Bay Maritime Scholarship Foundation, which provides scholarships benefitting graduates of Hillsborough County Schools’ high school maritime studies program, created by the Port of Tampa Propeller Club chapter.

Port Tampa Bay President and CEO Paul Anderson has been reappointed as chairman of the Florida Ports Council, an association of the state’s 15 public seaports, headquartered in Tallahassee. The association represents the voice of the port industry in Florida and provides leadership, on both the state and federal levels, in key initiatives that bolster the state’s maritime interests and seaborne trade, domestically and internationally.
