Port Tampa Bayslam Fishing Tournament
A truly Downtown Tampa Tournament—Port Tampa Bay’s 9th annual fishing tournament, dubbed Port Tampa BaySlam, is a one day, 5-species, catch and release style fishing tournament.
Port Tampa Bayslam: Friday November 7, 2025
Similar to Port Tampa Bay’s Golf Tournament and Anchor Ball, the Port Tampa BaySlam tournament will be a fundraiser for the following causes:
- Tampa Port Ministries
Seafarers often face significant challenges while working on ships, including isolation, mental health issues, and limited access to essential services. Tampa Port Ministries provides for the physical, social, and spiritual needs of seafarers and others who use the facilities of the Port of Tampa.
During the COVID 19 Pandemic, the Seafarers’ Center provided more than 2,000 vaccines to maritime workers from a variety of countries. The Seafarers’ Center is currently working with USF’s College of Nursing to create a first-of-its-kind health clinic on port property to serve the seafarers who visit our port.
-
Tampa Bay Maritime Scholarship Foundation
Maritime training prepares students for careers in this demanding industry. However, students pursuing maritime studies often encounter financial barriers that prevent them from accessing quality education and limiting their career prospects.
Tampa Bay Maritime Scholarship Foundation assists high achieving graduates of the Hillsborough County Maritime Technology Programs at Thomas Jefferson High School Magnet Honors Maritime Academy and other public institutions by providing meaningful scholarship support for post high school education leading to maritime careers.
