Port Tampa Bay and Royal Caribbean International celebrate the return of cruising from our port that has been more than 18 months in the making. Port Tampa Bay will welcome Royal Caribbean’s Serenade of the Seas to Cruise Terminal 6 before she departs on her maiden voyage from Tampa Bay with cruise guests. This is the first cruise vessel departure from Tampa Bay since the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued a no-sail order on March 14, 2020.

May 19, 2021 – Port Tampa Bay Hosts Annual Hurricane Preparedness Exercise

Port Tampa Bay will be hosting its 9th annual Hurricane Preparedness Exercise on Wednesday, May 19, 2021. This is one of many choreographed exercises to prepare Tampa Bay area agencies for possible hurricane and/or tropical storm scenarios. In the immediate aftermath of a storm, Port Tampa Bay’s goal is to continue to operate at its highest level. This is especially important, as our port serves as an energy gateway for Florida, providing the state nearly half of its fuel.
