Six Cruise Ships at Port Tampa Bay Shatter Passenger Records Again

- Tampa, Fl.— At Port Tampa Bay, we welcomed six cruise ships in one weekend for the first time (3 ships Saturday, 3 ships Sunday), smashing previous records for passenger traffic.  With our new improvements at Terminal 6, we are able to accommodate more passengers. During this weekend of Mar 31st – Apr 1st, a record-breaking 29,167 passengers total went in and out of Port Tampa Bay (embarking and disembarking). The highest previous count for one weekend was on February 17-18, 2018 with 22,960 passengers.

For the week of Mar 25th – Apr 1st, we had a total of 50,256 passengers. That number includes the return of Carnival Paradise into rotation on March 26th. We never compiled a “weekly passenger count” before but we feel certain this is the highest passenger number ever for one week because of the Carnival Paradise back in the mix, which was refurbished for a month and returned a week ago.

On Saturday, March 31st, these ships were at PTB: Carnival Paradise, Carnival Miracle, Royal Caribbean Brilliance. A record-breaking 15,800 passengers went through the Port (embarking and disembarking). The highest previous one day count of passengers was 13,972 on February 17, 2018.

On Sunday, April 1st, these ships were at PTB: Norwegian Cruise Dawn, Holland America Rotterdam, & Royal Caribbean Rhapsody. Total passengers in and out: 13,367.
