Operating Revenue Vs Ad Valorem Tax Revenue

For the second consecutive year, Port Tampa Bay broke a record for operating income in fiscal year 2018 at $59.1 million. That 5 year growth trend continues even as tax dollars remain flat, showing an overall year over year decline in the tax rate.

Can We Be Direct?

COSCO SHIPPING announced weekly “direct Asia” service to Tampa in December and the M/V COSCO Piraeus made her inaugural call in January 2019. This Gulf of Mexico Express service offers very competitive transit times connecting China with Florida's largest and fastest growing market via Port Tampa Bay.

Post-Panamax Service

In February CMA CGM announced it would include Port Tampa Bay on its Pacific Express 3 service sailing direct from Singapore, Vietnam, China, and Korea. The first call will be mid-June with a Post-Panamax 8,500 TEU ship and weekly calls thereafter. These will be the largest container ships to call on Port Tampa Bay.
