Port Tampa Bay’s Government Affairs office serves as the bridge between the port, legislative bodies, regulatory agencies, local governments, and community stakeholders. Its mission is to advocate for policies and programs that support safe, sustainable, and economically vibrant port operations, all while ensuring that the port remains an effective partner in regional and state-level development.
What We Do
- Shape Policy: Partner with policymakers to drive trade, streamline permitting, create jobs, and uphold safety and environmental standards.
- Build Partnerships: Maintain strong ties with local, state, and federal leaders to keep Port priorities front and center.
- Fuel Growth: Secure funding for dredging, terminal expansion, intermodal connectivity, and security, ensuring resilience in global trade and tourism.
- Ensure Accountability: Navigate regulations, oversee permitting, and uphold the highest standards of compliance.
- Promote Impact: Highlight the Port’s billions in economic activity, tens of thousands of jobs, and commitment to stewardship and community wellbeing.
