Port Tampa Bay honored by the American Association of Port Authorities with a Communications Award

- The American Association of Port Authorities honored Port Tampa Bay with an Award of Merit as part of their 54th annual Communications Award Program. Port Tampa Bay was recognized for communication efforts to staff, tenants, customers, and the community throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Port Tampa Bay was one of 23 ports recognized from the western hemisphere. 

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Port Tampa Bay has issued a weekly web update to the community to help the region understand how the port continues to support the infrastructure and economic needs of our area. Port Tampa Bay is a designated essentual business by the Department of Homeland Security and has remained open throughout the pandemic.

The 2020 AAPA Communications Awards Program utilized 37 professional public relations practitioners from the Washington, D.C. area who cumulatively spent more than 180 hours over two weeks judging the 14 classifications of entries, ranging from advertisements, periodicals, videos and websites, to social media and overall campaigns.
