Port Tampa Bay Welcomes Newly Appointed Board Commissioner Michael Owen

- Port Tampa Bay welcomes the Honorable Michael Owen to the Board of Commissioners for the 2022/2023 term. Commissioner Owen was selected as the representative from the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners and was sworn in during Port Tampa Bay's Board Meeting on Dec. 20, 2022.

Commissioner Owen was raised in Brandon, Florida and still calls it home today. He has been a small business owner in our community for over 15 years, employing residents of our region. As an attorney, he has prided himself in helping new business owners upstart their businesses and assists individuals in the protection of their assets through effective estate planning.

In addition to serving on the Port Tampa Bay Board of Commissioners, Commissioner Owen serves on the following boards and councils Hillsborough River Interlocal Planning Board, Hillsborough Transit Authority (HART), Tampa Estuary Program Policy Board, Transportation Planning Organization (TPO) and The Florida Aquarium Board of Directors.

As we welcome a new County Commissioner, we would like to thank The Honorable Harry Cohen for his two years of dedicated service to the PTB Board. Commissioner Cohen showed loyal dedication and leadership through his passionate interest in Port Tampa Bay and the port community as well as its impacts as the largest economic engine in the region. Commissioner Cohen was dedicated to economic growth and job creation and we wish him well in his future endeavors.
