6th Annual Tampa Bay Safety Summit Tackles Combating Human Trafficking

- Tampa, Fl – (April 17, 2019) – The ever-growing crisis of human trafficking will be addressed at the 6th Annual Tampa Bay Safety Summit at Port Tampa Bay.

Former Attorney General Pam Bondi, the Summit’s keynote speaker, serves as the Chair of Florida’s Statewide Human Trafficking Council.

Port Tampa Bay President/CEO Paul Anderson is a member of the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Advisory Committee on Human Trafficking. The committee, required by the Combating Human Trafficking in Commercial Vehicles Act, consists of stakeholders from trafficking advocacy organizations; law enforcement; trucking, bus, rail, aviation, maritime, and port sectors, including industry and labor.

The Tampa Bay Safety Summit a free event hosted by Port Tampa Bay and Tampa International Airport. The statewide conference demonstrates best practices among first responders and government agencies in transportation.

The Safety Summit also includes sessions and panels on risk mitigation, emergency management and resilience, cybersecurity, and lessons from Hurricane Michael.
